Leon Major Malala, DCP Deputy Party Leader Cleophas Malala's son, sought two commitments from Rigathi Gachagua as the Party Leader hosted Gen Zs at his Wamunyoro home on Monday, August 24.
Malala demanded that Gachagua ensure the DCP nomination elections were transparent, to ensure Gen Zs seeking to contest elective seats under the party have an equal opportunity.
He claimed that some aspirants have already started bragging that they had secured direct nomination just because they took photos with the former Deputy President.
"I want you to assure us that there will be free and fair nominations. Others claim that the photos with you are direct tickets," he said.
Malala further proposed that Gachagua declare that all 'minor positions' in the party, if it emerges victorious in the 2027 elections, will be exclusively for the youth.

"For the youths who will remain loyal to the party and be actively involved in popularising it, I would like you to declare that these small seats, like nominated Member of County Assembly (MCA), will be exclusively left for youths," he added.
Meanwhile, he assured the DCP Leader that the party would remain stable even as he travels to the United States of America for a month-long visit.
Malalah stated that the youths would take it upon themselves to move across all 47 counties to popularise the party and recruit more members.
In response, Gachagua assured the Gen Z of a fair fighting chance in the nominations, and further declared that those who are loyal will be rewarded. He added that he would personally handle the matter.
"I will make sure that all those who are very active and are loyal to our party and the liberation course to remove William Ruto will be rewarded and affirmed," he stated.
Speaking during the forum, the youths affiliated to DCP termed the former DP as one of their own, stating that he stood by them during and after the 2024 protests where many of their comrades lost their lives.
They further declared their support for the party, adding that the 'leaderless' narrative would cost them their seat at the decision-making table.
