Kenya Power has announced planned power interruptions in parts of five counties on Tuesday, September 8.

In a notice on Monday, September, 7, the company said the outages will affect selected areas in Nairobi, Uasin Gishu, Migori, Nyeri and Tharaka Nithi counties.

In Nairobi, power interruptions will affect parts of Loresho, including areas beyond A74077, University Farm and Mandela Hostels, as well as adjacent customers.

Parts of Waithaka will also be affected, including Gathodeki, Naivasha Road, Ndwaru Road, Kikuyu Road, Sam West, Ngina Road, Mario Flats, Kwa Ng’anga Flats, Nembu Girls, the DO’s Office Waithaka, and Mukarara Primary School.

Dagoretti High School, Maono Estate, Senate Estate, Kagira Primary School, Nairobi Women Hospital College, Kagondo, Muhuri Road, Kiuru Village and adjacent areas will also be affected.

KPLC said the Donholm and Savannah Road areas will also experience an interruption, affecting Total Energies Donholm, Family, Equity and Co-op banks in Donholm, Tigoni, Mate Plaza, and Mima Centre.

Others are New and Old Donholm, Equity Afya Hospital, Mara Savannah, Savannah, Greenfields, Sunrise, Donholm Phases 5 and 8, Harambee Sacco Estates, Oyster Village and adjacent customers.

In Uasin Gishu County, the planned outage will affect Kokwet and Chebororwo, including Barsombe and Koitugum and surrounding areas.

Parts of Migori County will also be without electricity, with the interruption affecting Kakrao, Ugari, Warisia, Chambombe, God Jope, Kimadui, GOTV and adjacent customers.

In Nyeri County, KPLC has listed several areas for the planned interruption. 

These include Palesia House, Tabby’s Plaza, Diana Mechanics Ground, Temple Road schools, Total Petrol Station, Kimathi Estate, Ngangarithi Estate, and Town View Academy.

Muthaiga, Gospel Outreach Sanctuary, KRA offices in Nyeri, Karen Hospital, Consolata College, Mumbai Estate and Nyeri National Polytechnic will also be affected.

The Ringroad and Kimathi Estate interruption will also affect adjacent customers, according to the utility company.

Other areas in Nyeri listed for the outage include Our Lady of Lourdes, Mary Immaculate Hospital, KWS, Waihenya Estate, Kamwena TTC, Major Seminary, Njengu, Eunice School and Embassy and surrounding areas.

KPLC has also scheduled an interruption covering Rukira, Mwanda TBC, Mahiga Coffee Factory, Mahiga Girls, Safaricom Mahiga, Kirai Market, Karomo Coffee Factory, Kagere Market, Mugaa Market, Weru TBC, Ndunyu Market, Muhito TBC, and Muguai TBC.

Gitugi Tea Factory, Kina TBC, Konyu TBC, Kihome TBC, Kaharo, Giakairo, Munyange Health Centre, Gituiga, Karandia, Wanju Market and adjacent customers will also be affected.

In Tharaka Nithi County, the planned power interruption will affect Rubate Market and surrounding areas, including Rubate TTC, Mpukoni Market, Maabi Secondary School, Maabi Village, Gitumbi Village, Kathiri Village and Gacigongo Primary School.
