In a statement on Wednesday, September 9, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) said the incident occurred at Mbai Farm Village in Kiminini Sub-County following a disagreement between the siblings.
The confrontation reportedly took place on August 5, 2026, when Nelson Wanundu allegedly got into a physical altercation with his brother, Isaack Walumoli.

Wanundu was rushed to Brown’s Hospital in Kiminini the following morning for treatment, but his condition had deteriorated by the time he arrived.
He was pronounced dead on arrival, after which his body was transferred to the Kiminini Cottage Mission Hospital Mortuary.
"Wanundu was subsequently rushed to Brown’s Hospital, Kiminini, the following morning for medical attention, but was pronounced dead on arrival.
"His body was thereafter moved to Kiminini Cottage Mission Hospital Mortuary, where it remains pending autopsy," the statement added.

Following Wanundu’s death, Walumoli could not be located and remained at large.
Detectives from DCI Kiminini subsequently launched an intelligence-led operation to establish his whereabouts and apprehend him.
"But as the grim reality sank in, Walumoli was nowhere to be found. He remained at large, prompting detectives based at DCI Kiminini to mount an intelligence-led operation to trace his whereabouts," the statement further read.
Acting on actionable intelligence, detectives eventually traced Walumoli to Kitale Town, where they arrested him.
He was then escorted to Kiminini Police Station, where he remains in custody as detectives process the case ahead of his arraignment.
This comes days after police officers arrested a 47-year-old father following the death of his 9-year-old daughter.
In a statement on Monday, September 7, the DCi said the suspect, identified as Norman Swahili, allegedly assaulted and sexually abused his daughter before she passed away.
According to the DCI, officers from Kibera Police Station received a distress call reporting that the suspect had allegedly seriously assaulted his daughter.
"The shocking incident occurred on September 6, 2026, after police officers at Kibra Police Station received a distress call reporting that the suspect, identified as Norman Swahili, had seriously assaulted his daughter," the statement read.
The officers, accompanied by members of the community policing team, rushed to the reported scene.
However, upon arrival, they were informed that Swahili had already taken his daughter to Mbagathi Hospital to seek medical attention.
The police officers proceeded to the hospital, where they were informed that the girl had been pronounced dead on arrival.
"The officers proceeded to the hospital, only to receive the devastating news that the nine-year-old girl had been pronounced dead on arrival," the added.
Preliminary examination revealed multiple bruises and swellings across the child’s body, as well as a freshly lost upper incisor tooth.
Further examination also indicated that the 9-year-old child had been sexually assaulted.
The child’s body was moved to Nairobi Funeral Home, where it is being preserved pending a postmortem examination.
