Sifuna led a delegation from the Linda Mwananchi team to meet Jubilee's Fred Matiang'i.

On Thursday, September 10, Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna led a delegation from the Linda Mwananchi team for a meeting with Jubilee Presidential flagbearer Fred Matiang'i.

Sifuna shared photos of himself with Matiang'i at an undisclosed hotel with the caption, ' We March on!'.

Other leaders present were Siaya Governor James Orengo, Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi, Kisii Senator Richard Onyonka and Embakasi East Member of Parliament (MP) Babu Owino.

Speaking to the press after the meeting, Senator Osotsi intimated that the leaders had lunch together and thereafter held talks about plans to solidify the 'Wantam' movement.

"We were having lunch and at the same time engaging in consultations to bring positive change in this country. We were also talking about 'Wantam'," he said.

Osotsi stated that the discussions were part of the engagements within the wider United Opposition

"This conversation will be going on not just for the people who are here, but also other leaders within the Opposition. We are confident that we are making progress," the Senator stated.

Earlier, Sifuna met with Wiper Patriotic Front Leader Kalonzo Musyoka over a cup of tea at his Karen residence

According to Linda Mwananchi, the Nairobi Senator and Kalonzo discussed the need for leaders to work together to safeguard constitutional democracy. The faction added that they also held talks on the importance of strengthening the nation's foundation. 

On his part, Sifuna reiterated the importance of Opposition Leaders working together to save the country from President William Ruto's regime.

He added that the leaders must do whatever it takes to remove the regime from power, adding that the 'mambo ni matatu' style of leadership undermined Kenya's constitutional democracy.

This is the second meeting between Kalonzo and Sifuna in as many months. The two leaders also met on July 30 at the SKM Command Centre.

After the meeting, the Wiper Leader publicly warned Sifuna against working with Ruto, adding that it would be akin to betraying national consciousness.
