The Social Health Authority (SHA) has announced the official launch of its E-Contracting Portal, paving the way for healthcare providers to submit applications for the new contracting cycle.
In a statement, the company said the portal went live on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. and will be used to facilitate the application and contracting of healthcare providers under four funds.
These include the Primary Health Care Fund (PHCF), Social Health Insurance Fund (SHIF), Emergency, Chronic and Critical Illness Fund (ECCIF), and Public Officers Medical Scheme Fund (POMSF).
Announcing the launch, SHA said the portal would now serve as the official platform through which healthcare providers can apply for contracts under the new cycle.
"The Social Health Authority (SHA) wishes to inform all healthcare providers that the SHA E-Contracting Portal is officially live as of today, Thursday, 17th September 2026 at 3:00 p.m," the statement read.

SHA further clarified that applications submitted before the official launch of the portal will not be considered as applications for the new contracting cycle.
"As previously communicated, any applications submitted through the portal before the official launch were for testing purposes and will be archived," the statement added.
The authority directed all healthcare providers to make fresh applications following the official activation of the portal.
"All healthcare providers are therefore required to submit fresh applications through the E-Contracting Portal from 3:00 p.m. on 17th September 2026," the statement further read.
Providers have been urged to carefully review their applications before submission to avoid delays or complications during the contracting process.
SHA said applicants should ensure that all required information and supporting documents are complete and accurate before submitting their applications.
Elsewhere, the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC) has extended the deadline for ambulance owners and operators to register and obtain licences for their services.
In a statement on Thursday, the council said the extension follows the launch of Ambulance Evacuation Services, giving operators additional time to complete the registration and licensing process without incurring charges.
"Following the successful launch of Ambulance Evacuation Services, the Council is pleased to announce that the deadline for free registration and licensure has been extended to 30th October 2026," the statement read.
KMPDC urged ambulance owners and operators who have not yet completed the process to use the extended period to submit their applications before the new deadline.
"Ambulance owners and operators are strongly encouraged to take advantage of this extended grace period to submit their applications at no cost," the statement added.
KMPDC directed ambulance owners and operators to submit their registration applications through the EMS Portal at https://ems.kmpdc.go.ke/ by 30th October 2026.
It warned that the free registration window will end once the new deadline expires, after which operators will be required to pay the prescribed charges under the relevant regulations.
KMPDC further cautioned ambulance operators against failing to complete registration within the stipulated period, noting that non-compliance could result in regulatory action.
"Failure to register within the stipulated period may attract regulatory action, including applicable fees for application, inspection, registration, and licensing, in accordance with the applicable laws and regulations," the statement concluded.
