Interested candidates are required to submit their application online through the Careers portal on the IPOA website at https://www.ipoa.go.ke/ipoa/careers.

IPOA also said successful applicants must meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 and will be required to provide clearance certificates from HELB, EACC, CRB, KRA, and DCI.

The authority mentioned that background checks and verification of academic certificates will be undertaken before onboarding.

“IPOA does not engage any recruitment agencies, and no medical examination is required before one attends an interview. IPOA does not charge a fee at any stage of the recruitment process,” the advert added.

This comes weeks after the National Assembly approved the appointment of Duncan Ojwang Oburu as the new chairperson of IPOA.

Ojwang's approval on Wednesday, August 19, came after he appeared before the National Assembly Departmental Committee on Administration and Internal Security for vetting.

He succeeds Justice Ahmed Issack Hassan, who left the position after being appointed to the Court of Appeal.

During his vetting, Ojwang assured lawmakers that he would uphold IPOA’s independence and ensure the authority remains focused on protecting the rights of Kenyans and holding police officers accountable.

"I believe I am courageous. I speak truth. Trust me with that responsibility. We will speak truth to power," he told the committee.
