KPLC Announces Power Supply Cuts in 10 Counties on Thursday

Kenya Power has announced scheduled electricity interruptions in 10 counties on Thursday, October 22, to facilitate maintenance works.

In a notice on Wednesday, October 21, the company said the planned outages will affect Nairobi, Kiambu, Nandi, Kisumu, Nyeri, Isiolo, Meru, Kitui, Kwale and Mombasa counties.

In Nairobi County, the planned outages will affect parts of Mirema, Spring Valley, Embakasi and Kasuku in Jabavu.

In Mirema, the interruption will run from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., affecting Lumumba, Mirema Drive, Mirema Road, USIU, Tsavo, Thome 1, Life Bridge Hospital, Safari Park Gardens, part of TRM Drive, Oakwood Estate and adjacent customers.

In Spring Valley, power will be interrupted during the same period in Peponi Road, Eldama Park, Peponi Gardens, part of Spring Valley Road and neighbouring areas.

Embakasi will experience an earlier interruption beginning at 8:00 a.m. and ending at 5:00 p.m. 

The affected areas include Baraka Estate, HPSS Embakasi Garrison, Green Corner, PCEA Embakasi, Pride Park Apartments and adjacent customers.

The scheduled maintenance will also affect Kasuku and Jabavu from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., covering Nyangumi Road, Chaka, Lenana Road, Rose Avenue, Kasuku Road, Makuyu Lane, Jabavu Road, Mtito Andei, Theta Lane and adjacent customers.

In Kiambu County, the outage will affect Platinum Estate and parts of Banana from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 

The affected locations include Platinum Estate, Banana, Family Bank, Quickmart, Little Sisters, Yamogo, Guango, Gikwaru Inn, Muchatha Primary School, Mugoiya Estate, Waguthu, Gathanga, Kagui Farm and adjacent customers.

In Nandi County, the interruption will affect Kipyesh, Chumek, Singilet and adjacent customers between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

Kisumu County will also experience a scheduled outage at SOS Marera and neighbouring areas during the same period.

In Nyeri County, Kenya Power has scheduled interruptions in three areas. The first will affect Ruring’u Stadium, Kiamwathi and Giakanja from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The affected locations include Ruring’u Stadium, Red Cross Court, Chorong’i, C/Fact, Kiamwathi Market, Gatiriini, Giakanja Market, Giakanja C/Fact, Karibaini, Kiunyu, Ikumbo, Karichen and adjacent customers.

The second interruption in Nyeri will affect Kiganjo Police College, Kagumo and Kirichu. 

Areas scheduled to experience the outage include Kiganjo Police College, Kagumo High School, Kiganjo Water Works, Kirichu Market, Sacred Hearts, parts of Kiganjo Market, Kanuna, and Clara Baker

Grand Stone Hotel, Site and Services Kiganjo, Nyeri Diocese College, Ihiga Village, Roza Academy, Wangi Water Project, Ndurutu Market and adjacent customers will also be affected.

The third outage will affect Kiuu Market, Ujamaa, Mbugua, Gitino Village, Nguyoini and adjacent customers, also from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

In Isiolo County, electricity will be interrupted in Mutunyi, Kweruga and Subuiga from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. 

The affected locations include Mutunyi, Daichi Farm, Kweruga, Asili Millers, Mungania Market, Nkado, Engineer, Dr. Kiambati, Ntumburi, TM Market, Lewa, Manyangalu, Matunda, Marete and adjacent customers.

In Meru County, the scheduled outage will run from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., affecting Ntugi, Kisima, Marania and Embori.

The areas listed in the notice include Ntugi Market, Kibirichia Market, Ntirimiti Base Station, Muruguma Market, Murinya Market, Kanguambi, Ruibi, Naari, Kimbo Market, Marania, VoK, Kironya Kathatene, Kaburiko, Kongoni Farm, and AA Growers.

Other affected areas are Embori Farm, Kisima Farm, Uhuru Flowers, PJ Dave, Kikwetu Flowers, Kisima Secondary School, Timaflow, School of Adventure, Bloomingdale, Edenbrooks, Subuiga Market and adjacent customers.

In Kitui County, the interruption will affect Kwa Vonza Secondary and surrounding areas from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 

The affected locations include Mikuyuni Primary School, SEKU University, Kwa Mboya Market, Ndalani Market, KU Kitui Campus and adjacent customers.

In Kwale County, Kenya Power has scheduled an outage affecting Mvindeni, Zigira and Ukunda Posta from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 

Other affected locations include Muhaka, Mwabungo, Kona Musa, Msikiti Nuru, Ibiza, Jorori and adjacent customers.

Mombasa County will also experience a major interruption affecting the whole of Nyali between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

The affected areas include Ores Estate, Nyali Plaza, Oshwal, Enclave, Beach Road, Salama Estate, Simba Estate, Kisumu Ndogo, Frere Town, Makaburini, Fair Deal, Nature Waters, Harambe Estate, Kongowea Primary School, Mohammed Ali Offices, Kilima Road, Maweni, Kongowea, VoK, Old Mugoya, Ziwa la Ngombe, Bombolulu, Mbungoni, Sheik Halifa, Yasmin Waters, Bombolulu Workshop, Double Laundry, Bandari Quarters, Marianist Catholic Church, Hakika Flats, Exhibition Road, Jamhuri Road, and Greenwood Drive.

Light Academy, Oleander Drive, Coral Drive, Greenwood Mall, Greenwood Lane, Nyali Barracks, Mt. Kenya Road, Chiromo Hospital, Voyager, Nyali Reef, Moyne Drive, Mkomani Butchery, Texas Security, Nyali Cinemax, Kongowea Generation, Rainbow Estate, China Square, part of Kongowea Market, Ratna Square, Sow Ground, Mombasa Academy, Mama Ngina Drive, Jomo Kenyatta Road and adjacent customers will also be affected.
