Deputy President William Ruto-linked UDA Party is set to open its first diaspora office in Seattle in the United States of America.
The unveiling of the UDA Seattle branch has been scheduled for June 18, 2021, and will be graced by Murang’a Senator Irungu Kang’ata as the Chief Guest.
In a tweet on Friday evening, Senator Kang’ata confirmed the opening of the Seattle office, adding that he’s happy to be the chief guest.
“I am greatly honoured to be Chief Guest for the official launch of UDA Diaspora Office in Seattle USA Washington state 1648 310th Street Federal Way Washington 98003 6pm 18th June 2021. All are invited,” he tweeted.

The opening of the office is a strategic move to target support from the diaspora. Kenyans in diaspora are known to play a critical role especially in matters financing and resource mobilization.
Meanwhile, the UDA party has been conducting sensitization meeting and recruiting members as part of its plan to build a solid support base ahead of the 2022 general election.
On Thursday, UDA Secretary-General Veronica Maina received a section of Kibra ODM officials who decamped to the Hustler Nation.
In a statement, UDA noted that the former ODM officials have endorsed the Hustler Nation agenda and are ready to champion it in Kibra; one of the biggest slums in Africa.
According to UDA, the ODM officials switched to its camp because they believe the bottom-up approach being spearheaded by Hustler Nation resonates well with Kibra people.
“Secretary-General Veronica Maina receives ODM officials from Kibra Constituency who defected to UDA. They endorsed UDA's hustlers' empowerment agenda that they said resonates well with Kibra residents,” the party said.
