The government has declared Busia, Vihiga, Kisii, Nyamira, Kakamega, Kericho, Bomet, Bungoma, Trans-Nzoia, Kisumu, Siaya, Homa-Bay and Migori Covid-19 hotspot zones.
In the new directive, the state has imposed a curfew to be observed between 07:00 p.m. and 4:00 a.m. in these zones effective tomorrow.
The 13 counties have been declared a COVID-19 hotspot zone after registering a positivity rate of 21% against a national average of 9%.
Movement in and out of the 13 counties will remain restricted unless for emergency and essential purposes.
Those exempted from the curfew are essential and emergency services providers.

Congregating in places of worship such as churches, mosques, temples and shrines in these counties has also been suspended for 30 days.
