Police officers in Nakuru county have arrested Faith Chepkorir, 25, on suspicion of murdering her 4-year-old daughter. This is after the body of the child was found in a 7-foot latrine.
Pressured by villagers in a shining example of community policing, Ms Chepkorir at first denied knowing where her daughter was.
This is after an eyewitness had placed her at the scene of crime claiming the accused killed and dumped the child's body in the latrine.

She would later lead the villagers to the aforementioned latrine where villagers managed to recover the child's body.
It is at this point that Faith Chepkorir confessed to the heinous crime of murdering her daughter.
The incident which occurred on Tuesday, June 29th shocked residents of Kapno village in Kuresoi, Nakuru county with neighbours revealing that Ms Chepkorir had separated from her husband.
This is just the latest case of a mother killing their child. In June 2020, a 42-year-old other poisoned her four children, locked them inside her house, and went into hiding. Beatrice Mwende later blamed her actions on evil spirits.
More recently, Akoth Atieno, a 23-year-old Homa Bay resident beheaded her 1-year-old son after he refused to breastfeed.
