The Director of Public Prosecutions Noordin Haji has dismissed claims that he ordered the arrest of Justices Aggrey Muchelule and Said Chitembwe on Thursday.
In a social media post, the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP), the DPP denied knowledge of the circumstances that led to the arrest of the two High Court judges.
"The DPP is not aware of circumstances that led to the arrest or questioning of 2 Judges neither has his office received any investigation files concerning them," the post read

The statement went on to say that the office would issue directions if and when the investigations file were handed over to them
The statement by the DPP follows the controversial arrest of two High Court judges and a subsequent statement by Nairobi LSK Chairman Eric Theuri where he allegedly blamed the DPP for the arrests.
Theuri has since come out to defend himself claiming he did not mention the DPP in his statement labelling the DPP statement as a 'social media statement by PR operatives'.
Juices Said Chitembwe and Aggrey Muchelule were quizzed for hours by the DCI after their arrest on allegations of intended bribery.
Justice Muchelule is one of the 6 judges whom President Uhuru Kenyatta declined to appoint to their new positions as their counterparts were sworn in on June 4th.
KENYA Judges and Magistrates Association has since moved to court seeking to stop the prosecution of Justices Said Chitembwe and Aggrey Muchelule.
The Association is seeking to stop the arrest of the two judges pending the hearing of this case.
