Law Society of Kenya (LSK) President Nelson Havi has said that Chief Justice Martha Koome has failed to protect the Judiciary.
In a statement on Twitter, Havi who was responding to an article by Clay Muganda said CJ is in bed with the Executive, and that she is not being bullied as he put it on his column.
The LSK President accused Koome of undermining elected leaders in key institutions in the justice sector adding that what is happening is her being held accountable.
Havi noted that she will be reminded of it every day.

“CJ Martha Koome is not being bullied. She is being held accountable. She has undermined elected leaders of bodies that are key players in the justice sector. She has gone to bed with the Executive and failed to protect the Judiciary. This, the CJ will be reminded of daily,” he said.
Muganda on his column had argued that Kenyans cannot claim to be demanding for independence of the judiciary, while they continue bullying the CJ at every slightest opportunity they get.
“We need to give the new CJ time to do things her way as long as they do not contravene the law. People have their own styles and our continued haranguing is akin to bullying.”
“Actually, it is bullying. And we cannot be saying that the Judiciary needs to be independent when all we do is push the Chief Justice into a corner with vitriol and invectives because we want her to sneeze in our style,” reads an excerpt of Muganda’s column.
