An autopsy report of two brothers Benson Njiru and Emmanuel Mutura who died while in police custody, Embu County has revealed the cause of death.
The report revealed that the two died of multiple injuries. According to the results, the bodies of the two had multiple injuries caused by blunt force trauma.
The two brothers, who were reportedly arrested on Sunday, August 1, 2021, for allegedly contravening curfew regulations were found dead on Tuesday, August 3, 2021. Their bodies were taken to Embu Level 5 Hospital morgue.
The family pointed an accusing finger at the police, but the law enforcement agencies insist that they had no hand in the death of the boys.

One person was shot dead on Thursday, August 5th, 2021 as Kianjokoma residents in Embu County protested the death of the two.
The victim was shot in the head and succumbed to the injuries on the spot as confrontations ensued between anti-riot police and residents of Kianjokoma in Embu town.
The Independent Police Oversight Authority (IPOA) on Thursday opened a probe into the deaths of two Embu brothers.

In a statement on Thursday, IPOA noted that it has deployed investigators to rapidly probe the matter and report their findings.
“IPOA has this morning deployed investigators from its Nairobi Headquarters to beef up their Meru Rapid Investigations counterparts who launched their investigations yesterday. This is intended to fast-track the investigations," part of the statement read.
