Opposition Leader Raila Odinga has dropped the strongest
hint that he will be contesting for the county’s top seat during the 2022
presidential election.
Speaking at a funeral in Butere Constituency over the
weekend, Odinga noted that he is stronger than before and is ready to lead
Kenya’s third liberation movement.
The former Prime Minister dismissed those calling for his
retirement noting that he has what it takes to liberate Kenya.
He opined that the will liberate Kenya from corruption, marginalization
and poverty.

“Do you want me to retire? Do you want me to retire? Okay, I
am still strong and ready to lead the third liberation which we have begun.
“They expected that I would come back in a wheelchair. They were wrong. Today, I am much stronger and prepared to lead the country’s third liberation,” Odinga said as quoted by Standard.
This is the first time since the 2017 election that Odinga hinted
on his future intentions.
For the past three years, he has been tight lipped on his
intentions, insisting that his focus is on working with the president to unite
the country through the Building Bridges Initiative.
Meanwhile, President Uhuru Kenyatta and Odinga are set to unveil the final BBI report today at the Bomas of Kenya.
