The Kenya Power and Lighting Company has issued a statement on the electricity outage in estates along the Thika Superhighway.
In the statement seen by Nairobileo.co.ke, Kenya power said they have initiated an emergency shutdown to stabilize power supply from their Ruaraka substation.
According to Kenya power, the shutdown will last for about five hours.
"Electricity supply to our Ruaraka Substation will be interrupted for approximately 5 hours to facilitate an operation that will help stabilise power supply for customers served by the facility," said Kenya power.
"We apologise for the inconvenience caused."

Some of the affected estates include; Githurai 45, parts of Mwihoko, Kwa Ngethe, Mumbi, Sukari B, Mwiki, Co-operative Bank Githurai, Tai Sacco, Moonlight, Kame, Quick Matt, Kahawa West, parts of Githurai 44, Kamutini, Maziwa, parts of Zimmerman, Jacaranda Estate, Roysambu Primary School, Canopy, Zimmerman Powerstar Supermarket among others.
