ODM leader Raila Odinga received a warm reception in Chaka, Nyeri county on Monday, September 27, 2021, as he popularized his agenda for the country ahead of the 2022 general election.
The former premier is on a three-day tour of the Mount Kenya region.
In videos and photos seen by Nairobileo.co.ke, a mammoth crowd is seen chanting Odinga's name as he makes an entrance to Chaka, Nyeri County.
A section of the crowd is spotted carrying banners written, 'Raila na Mt. Kenya."
Before starting the tour, the ODM leader addressed the press in the company of governors Lee Kinyanjui (Nakuru), Francis Kimemia (Nyandarua), James Nyoro (Kiambu), and Nderitu Mureithi (Laikipia).

Odinga outlined his economic plan for the region and assured that his government would sponsor monthly trade promotion meetings which will bring together government officials, ministries, exporters, researchers, education institutions, and trading companies.

This will be intended to exchange ideas, goals, and to improve coordination and mutual understanding between private and public sectors.

"During the grand coalition government, the round table with the private sector created a forum for the much needed collaboration with the public sector. This enabled the two sectors to clear critical bottlenecks for the good of business and the nation," Odinga stated.
