The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) boss George Kinoti has mourned veteran Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) Swahili news anchor Badi Muhsin who passed away on Friday, October 8, 2021, in Mombasa County.
Kinoti recalled Mr. Muhsin as a great friend to the DCI who embraced and promoted closer ties between the DCI and members of the public.
"Mr Kinoti, who is yet to come to terms with the news of Badi’s demise has termed his sudden death as shocking. The celebrated Swahili news anchor was not only a close friend to the DCI Director, but also one of our greatest partners who embraced and promoted closer ties between the DCI and members of the public.
"The broadcast legend who has worked as an anchor for three decades has recently been at the forefront in promoting our #FichuakwaDCI tip line, to encourage members of the public to report crime," part of the statement shared by DCI on Twitter read.

Mr. Kinoti eulogized the veteran news anchor as a humble servant of enviable personality, adding that the DCI has indeed lost a great friend and partner whose contribution in fostering a safe and secure environment amongst the community shall be greatly missed.

Mr. Muhsin was one of the longest Swahili news anchors in Kenya and presented news between 1980 to 2002 during President Daniel Moi's era.
