-DP Ruto no-show in Naivasha for BBI meeting

Deputy President William Ruto was a no-show at Naivasha, Nakuru County for the  Building Bridges Initiative (BBI)meeting on Monday.

The meeting was graced by his boss President Uhuru Kenyatta, ODM leader Raila and was meant to find common ground on the contentious issues in the BBI report.

Instead, DP Ruto held a meeting with Ukambani professionals affirming his earlier stance on the report that common ground should be found to capture all different views.

"We should find a mechanism to bring together all divergent views on the Building Bridges Initiative report. It is possible for us to agree on the contentious issues therein so that we can move the country forward. We cannot unite Kenya through divisive tactics," Ruto said during the meeting.

On the other hand, Kenyatta and his handshake partner Odinga met parliamentarians from both the Senate and National assembly to agree on the implementation roadmap for the BBI report

"President Uhuru Kenyatta is in Naivasha, Nakuru County for a meeting with Parliamentarians from both the Senate and the National Assembly to discuss and build consensus on the implementation road map of the reform proposals contained in the Building Bridges Initiative report," a tweet from State House read.
