Garissa Township, Member of Parliament Aden Duale, now claims that the source of millions Deputy President William Ruto donates in churches and meetings come from private businesses and donations from UDA members.
Speaking on JKLive show on Wednesday evening, Duale defended the donations that have been criticized in the past.
“The Deputy President, not once, even to this television stations, has told you the kind of business he runs. He can give part of his profits. We can do corporate collection, when I build mosques and Madrassas in my constituency, the money doesn’t come from me; it comes from a number of top business people, we do fundraising.
“even us we contribute. If he pays 500,000 shillings I pay 100,000 shillings, another member pays 50 shillings and I do that even in my constituency," Duale said on Citizen TV.

DP Ruto's church contributions have been criticized in the past by his opponents including ODM leader Raila Odinga, terming it as proceeds of corruption.
Weighing in on the chaos witnessed during DP Ruto tour of Kisumu County, Duale called on all leaders across the country to condemn such activities of political intolerance.
However, he was quick to point out that he will not attend the Jubilee National Delegates Convention slated at the end of the month in Kasarani, Nairobi County.
"I will not attend the Jubilee party NDC even if I’m invited, please don’t invite me, I have no business at the NDC; I left Jubilee," Duale added.
