Renowned journalist Anne Mawathe is leaving the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC). 

In an internal communication by Vera Kwakofi, who is the Senior News Editor - Africa TV, Mawathe's last week at BBC will be the first week of December.

Mawathe was instrumental in setting up the BBC heald desk offices in Nairobi, Dakar, and Lagos. 

"I’d like to inform you that our Africa Health Editor, Anne Mawathe, is leaving the BBC.   Anne was instrumental in setting up the BBC Africa Health unit and has over the last three years led the health teams in Nairobi, Dakar, and Lagos. 

"She oversaw the launch of our flagship Health programmes Life Clinic, La Vie, and Maisha and grew the coverage of health stories from the continent across BBC News platforms," part of the email reads.

Anne has been at BBC for the last three years and five months. Before joining the media house, she worked at Citizen TV where she had been a producer for five years and two months.

This comes hours after another BBC business news presenter Hudheifa Aden tendered his resignation from the global media house.

Aden, who joined BBC business desk from NTV, resigned three years and five months after making the switch.
