Mt Kenya Unity Forum leaders were represented by Martha Karua( Narc Kenya) Former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo and National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi.
Speaker Muturi is the only leader in the Mt Kenya Unity Forum who has expressed presidential interests.
The meeting comes barely a week after Speaker Muturi was welcomed in Mt Kenya Unity Forum group where it was announced that the political outfit will be seeking to bring together the Mt Kenya region ahead of the 2022 polls.
Sources privy to the developments at Hermosa Hotel told Nairobi Leo that the meeting was about succession politics and that discussions were held on the possibility of the presidential running mate position being left to a lady.
According to the source, chances of Karua fitting the bill were explored in the event the group agrees on who will be their flagbearer in the political formation that they aspire to build.
The group was expected to issue a joint press statement at 10:30 am, just after their meeting, but the scheduled time had lapsed by the time of publishing this story.
