The Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) has announced job opportunities across various departments and welcomed applications from members of the public.
KPA announced 200 vacant positions according to a notice published in MyGov paper on Tuesday, November 23, 2021.
The ports authority further noted that all applications by interested candidates must be submitted by December 8.
Upon successful applications, shortlisted candidates will be required to report to the gang supervisor, manual cargo handling, and shore operations.

Interested applicants are required to have at least a Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE).
They are also required to be physically fit so as to easily handle tasks assigned to them, some of which are manual.
The applicants are also required to possess good communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
Those hired will be assigned to lock and unlock manual spreaders before a container is lifted from or onto a ship, signal crane operators and reach stacker operators when lifting and stacking containers, and, handle and carry operational gears from one berth to the other.
They will also be required to sling and un-sling out of gauge containers/loos cargo.
Physically guide the equipment operator in the positioning of the container onto either terminal trailer, ship or other road/rail transport.
Physically handle and carry packages during stripping, verification, surveys and stuffing.
The candidates should always comply with safe working procedures as well as Staff Regulations, Harbour Regulations, circulars and notices as they are revised from time to time.

KPA further warned candidates against canvassing- pointing out that it leads to automatic disqualification.
