Kenya Human Rights Commission chairperson and law professor Makau Mutua has yet again taken a swipe at Deputy President William Ruto.
In a tweet on Monday morning, January 3, the US-based professor said the DP would abolish term limits should he ascend to power post-2022 General Elections.
Mutua further claimed that he fears DP Ruto would create a corrupt one-man dictatorship and a sovereign state of which citizenship is restricted to members of a particular racial or ethnic group.
He also stated that the DP would kill the press, adding that should he clinch the top seat, he will detain his critics and subject them to unspeakable acts.
"I fear that if elected President DP William Ruto will abolish term limits, create a deeply corrupt one-man dictatorship and a one-party ethno-state, kill the press, end judicial independence, detain and exile real/perceived critics, and subject dissenters to unspeakable acts," claimed Mutua.

Mutua's statement sparked mixed reactions from a host of social media users including Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen who took issue with the law professor for supporting Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).
"That’s conjecture. The reality is that you supported BBI that promised all the evil you have listed," Murkomen responded.
Another user identified as Fred Makokha reacted to the statement noting that Mt. Kenya people were told the same about Raila Odinga.
"Same thing Mt. Kenya was told Baba would do if elected president. Now everyone is confessing they lied," he commented.
