Former Prime Minister and ODM leader Raila Odinga on Friday, January 7 celebrated his 77th birthday at the Bomas of Kenya.
The birthday party was attended by politicians including including Cabinet Secretaries (CSs) and Chief Administrative Secretaries (CASs) with the ODM leader cutting a five-tier cake.
Speaking during the event, Raila noted that he wishes his mother would be alive so that he could express his appreciation.
"Leo nimezaliwa, sijawahi ona mtoto anazaliwa na anaongea. Lakini kuna mtu ningependa kumrudishia shukrani kubwa sana bahati mbaya hayuko hapa siku ya leo, huyo ni mama yangu maanake yeye alikua na shida sana wakati huo," he said.
On the other hand, Raila's brother Oburu Odinga expressed gratitude for the support the ODM leader has been receiving, maintaining that he would clinch the presidency come August 9.
"This is a very good gesture and I would like to thank you again for the support. Since I came here I have been listening and I've heard the support which you've given with passion saying that you are going to support Raila to be the next President in 2022," Oburi said.
Politicians invited to address the audience heaped praises on Raila one after the other.
