The National Assembly minority whip claimed that DP Ruto sent Linturi to utter the "madoadoa" remarks to test the waters on how Kenyans respond.

Suna East Member of Parliament Junet Mohamed has alledged that Deputy President William Ruto is behind the reckless remarks uttered by Meru Senator Mithika Linturi during UDA's Eldoret rally on Saturday, January 8, 2022.

Addressing members of the public in Kajiado on Monday, January 10, Junet dismissed Ruto's apology, arguing that the second in command should have condemned the remarks in Eldoret, not in Bomet.

The National Assembly minority whip claimed that DP Ruto sent Linturi to utter the "madoadoa" remarks to test the waters on how Kenyans respond.

"When I was in the car, I heard that Ruto had condemned Linturi in Bomet. That is a pure joke, he should have condemned Linturi while in Eldoret, the same day he made such remarks instead of waiting until things turn hot," remarked Junet.

The lawmaker further alleged that DP Ruto's failure to condemn Linturi's remarks in Eldoret only implied that it is he who sent him to make the utterances.

"He sent Linturi to make the remarks as he waited to see how Kenyans will react. After noting that things are going south, that is when he comes out to condemn it, we are not stupid.

"It is you (Ruto) who sent Linturi, we know how you experiment things, we know how politicians operate. Ruto sent him but he went an extra mile," he added.

Linturi's remarks caused a stir among members of the political divide and Kenyans as well. However, the Meru Senator stated that his words were taken out of context and that he meant for the people of Uasin Gishu to vote for a "six-piece" UDA leadership, from MCA to President.

DP Ruto, UDA Party have since apologised on behalf of the senator.
