National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi now says it was unnecessary for the large contingent of police to storm the offices of businessman Jimi Wanjigi to have him arrested.
In a statement, the Speaker attacked the authority for using force where it is unnecessary.
At the same time, he maintained that the rule of law as dictated by the constitution should be followed to the latter.
"Adherence to the law and its process must always be followed, it is unnecessary for a large show of force to arrest someone for a non-violent crime, without affording them a chance to present themselves, political tolerance is essential in a democracy," Speaker Muturi said.
