Lurambi MP Bishop Titus Khamala has officially joined the ODM party.

The MP was received to the ODM party on Monday by the Orange party officials based in Kakamega.

This comes a week after Khamala and a host of officials from Western Kenya met the ODM leader Raila Odinga during which they agreed to work with him.

Khamala while joining the Orange party pledged to campaign for the outfit and its presidential candidate saying he won't engage in mudslinging the ANC party.

" I won't talk about where I have come from. I want to talk about ANC or its leader Musalia Mudavadi. Where I have come from is history. I am now focused on talking about where I have now joined," he said.

Officials who welcomed the MP said they were ready to work together even as they exuded confidence that the MP would retain his seat.

They said they have in the past lacked a formidable candidate who can compete seriously with others but in Khamala, they said, they are certain of victory.

The move by Musalia to declare a working relationship with the DP jolted his party leading to defections.

Other MPs who quit the party after Musalia's move include Butere MP Tindi Mwale, Christopher Aseka (Khwisero).
