Central Organization of Trade Unions (COTU) boss Francis Atwoli has responded to Deputy President William Ruto's head of communication, Hussein Mohammed.
In a statement on Tuesday morning, February 8, Hussein called out the COTU boss over remarks he made against the DP during a state function in Changamwe, Mombasa county.
Atwoli said that DP Ruto might commit suicide after losing the August 9 General Elections to ODM party leader Raila Odinga.
"The remarks by their 'ancient campaign expert' Francis Atwoli, are completely unnecessary and go against the tenets of democracy
"For Kenyans inflicted with violence and death including in the context of elections, this is not a laughing matter," Hussein noted in the statement.

However, Atwoli has since fired back at the former Citizen TV news anchor demanding him to address him correctly, further noting that he holds no office in Azimio La Umoja alliance.
"Somebody should tell Hussein Mohammed that I am COTU Secretary-General I have an office and I have no office in Azimio. He should address me correctly if he's to help UDA," Atwoli said.
Speaking during the same meeting, Atwoli took issue with the DP disrespecting him, noting that he was done with school by the time DP Ruto was born.
Atwoli further stated that he would have been DP Ruto's father if he would have met his mother after completing his secondary school education.
"And I want to tell you gentlemen, huyu kijana ambaye anawadanganya alizaliwa 1966, mimi nilikua nimemaliza Form Four na wakati huo watoto wa Form Four tulikua wazee amd after six months nikaandikwa (kazi) when he was six months old
"If I would have met the mother, I would have been the father," Atwoli said.
