Patience Nyange on Wednesday, February 9, officially resigned from the Media Council of Kenya (MCK).
Nyange was appointed a member council at MCK in 2019 and has resigned as required by the law as she eyes the Taita Taveta Gubernatorial seat.
In an announcement via her social media pages, Nyange said," Today I officially resign as a Council Member at the Media Council of Kenya I join a number of public servants who have resigned to seek elective posts during the 2022 General Election.
"I am heading to Taita Taveta County to seek an opportunity to serve as Governor, the 3rd This follows Gazette Notices Number 430/1/2/3/4/5 of 20th January, 2022, and the Court of Appeal decision rendered 8th February, 2022, pertaining to the resignation of state and public officers who intend to seek offices in the 2022 General Election."
Nyange is a communications and media engagement specialist with over 18 years experience in various communications fields including Broadcast Journalism, Public Relations and Communication, Social Media Management, and Mentorship for young journalists.

The following government officials have resigned and are seeking elective seats;

5. Wildlife Principal Secretary Fred Segor - Resigned on Tuesday, February 8 and he will vie for the Baringo county gubernatorial seat on a UDA ticket.
6. Tourism CAS Joseph Boinnet - Resigned on Tuesday, February 3 and he will vie for the Elgeyo Marakwet county gubernatorial seat on a UDA ticket.
7. Education CAS Hassan Noor Hassan - Resigned on Tuesday, February 8 and he will vie for the Mandera county gubernatorial seat on a UDA ticket.
8. East African Community & Regional Development CS, Adan Mohamed - Resigned on Tuesday, February 8 and he will vie for the Mandera county gubernatorial seat.
9. Water PS Joseph Irungu - Resigned on Tuesday, February 8.
10. Devolution CAS Gideon Munga'aro - He will vie for Kilifi gubernatorial race on an ODM ticket.
11. East African Community CAS Ken Obura - He is set to contest for Kisumu Governor's seat in the August General Election.
12. KBC Zinga Show host Bonnie Musambi - Resigned on Tuesday and is set to vie for Kitui Central Parliamentary seat in Kitui County.
13. Transport CAS Chris Obure - Resigned on Wednesday and will contest for Kisii Gubernatorial Race under Azimio.
14. Water, Sanitation, and Irrigation Cabinet Secretary (CS) Sicily Kariuki - She resigned on Wednesday and is eyeing the Nyandarua gubernatorial seat.
