NHIF has announced rates for Kenyans earning in excess of Ksh100,000.
According to fresh regulations, Kenyans earning more than Sh100,000 will have to pay between Sh1,700 to Sh8,500.
Initially, those earning Sh100,000 and above were paying a flat rate of Sh1,700.
The new regulations guide that any Kenyan earning Sh100,00 will pay a minimum of 1.7 per cent of the salary as the monthly premium.

The percentage will increase according to one pay up until the Sh200,000 salary scale.
This means a Kenyan earning between Sh100,000 to Sh199,999 as salary will pay a flat rate of 1.7 per cent of the salary as NHIF premium.
Those earning Sh200,00O and above will see their rate double to Sh3400 while those getting Sh500,000 will part with Sh8,500.
The review is the latest after it was last updated in 2015 when monthly contributions were raised from Sh320 as the minimum amount to Sh500.
This comes even as the government is working on modalities of ensuring every Kenyan pays Sh6000 yearly for their health cover.'
Health CS mutahi Kagwe is on record saying they are also devising ways in which the money can be deducted from M-Pesa transactions if the mobile line users allow it.
Other radical measures proposed include denying Kenyans government services, for those who have not paid for their health cover.
