ODM Director of Elections Junet Mohamed has issued a statement after meeting MP Abdulswamad Shariff Nasir.
The meeting comes after a video that has since gone viral on social media.
In the now-viral video, Junet is seen to be pushing Shariff during the Tononoka rally in Mombasa County.
Responding to the video, Junet termed the video fake stating that it was manipulated for political purposes.
The Suna East legislator added that he enjoyed a cordial relationship with Nassir.

"With my brother Hon. Abdulswamad Shariff Nassir. The last few days have seen so much rubbish said about me from a digitally manipulated video. In Tononoka, we drove together in the same vehicle to the venue and left together. Hon. Abdulswamad Shariff Nassir and I are deeply cordial. Ignore desperate rumours. Team Azimio is strong," Junet stated.
On the other hand, Abdulswamad has castigated his political opponents who he claimed are using violence because of desperation.
"Its unfortunate and a scary fact that our opponents are so desperate for power to use violence and insinuate that it has party blessings. Leadership is a calling. Leadership is knowing when to act, when to react, and most importantly when not to react. The truth will be told soon," he said.
Abdulswamad will face Suleiman Shabal in the ODM nominations as they battle for the Mombasa gubernatorial seat.
