A bridge that was opened last week by Kajiado Governor Joseph Ole Lenku has collapsed.
The tragedy was caused by heavy rains.

The Paai Bridge which was constructed by the county government of Kajiado cost more than Sh100, 000,000.

Pictures from the scene showed part of the bridge had fallen.
Residents say the remaining pillars of the bridge appear weak and shaky.

The bridge was to serve Kajiado East, Central and South people.

The bridge was set to benefit farmers and pastoralists in Eselenkei, Emashini, Iltuleta, Olanti Mashuuru, and Lenkisim villages.
The area is dominantly practising pastoralism and farming.
