It will no longer be mandatory to wear facemasks in public places, Health CS Mutahi Kagwe has announced.
The Health CS made the announcement on Friday in a press conference that saw him announce more regulations to guide Kenyans as they carry out their day to day activities.
The CS noted that Kenyans should continue to adhere to social measures, ensure frequent handwashing with soap and water as well as sanitizing. He termed it as personal responsibility for safety.
The CS however said travellers using public service vehicles should wear masks. He noted that those who attend indoor functions must also have facemasks.
Kagwe noted that places of worship are now allowed to start operating to full capacity so long as the congregants are fully vaccinated.
Kagwe also stated that all public service vehicles, trains and other means of transport should resume full capacity operation.
The CS also stated that truck drivers fully vaccinated will not require any other documents. Unvaccinated drivers must however have a negative PCR test as a requirement.
According to Kagwe, spectators are now allowed in venues of sporting activities but said they should be fully vaccinated.
