Kabogo says the DP must put in writing his plan for the Mt Kenya region.

Former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo has threatened to ditch deputy president William Ruto's camp.

In a video that has since gone viral on social media, Kabogo says the DP must put in writing his plan for the Mt Kenya region.

"At the moment, I am in Kenya Kwanza but on a rider that Ruto must present a written document in two months on how he will handle economic matters of our region and if he fails to do so then I may change my mind,” he said.

He said the region stands to benefit massively if the incoming President will implement the one man, one shining strategy in the allocation of resources.

He said they deliberated with the DP on the same and they agreed that is what he will fulfil for the region.

“We can leave the counties as they are so that what they get is the minimum equitable share but any additional money will be shared according to population and we agreed that with the DP. But I told him that I want it in writing,” he said.

He said his commitment to Kenya Kwanza is not in doubt and if elections were held today, he will have to vote in the DP.

But he said that can change if he fails to guarantee the region that they stand to benefit in his rule by having a well structured economic blueprint for the region.

“I only have one vote and if I was to vote now, it would go to DP Ruto unless I get a reason not to vote. But if something happens and I have to change my mind and vote for myself as president, I will,” he added.

"In politics, a day is a long time. Things do change. You may find me on the ballot but we are not there yet."
