Deputy President William Ruto has responded to President Uhuru Kenyatta after the latter told Gikuyu elders that the DP wanted to impeach him.
During his meeting with Kikuyu elders at State House on Saturday, Kenyatta is said to have told the elders that Ruto was undercutting him and scheming for his ouster by inciting Jubilee MPs to rebel.
Speaking in Kilifi County, on Sunday, March 27, Ruto rubbished the claims by President Kenyatta stating that he was not a mad man.
“I am not a fool, a drunkard, or a mad man to help put together a government and then go behind it and plan to remove it. As Deputy President, I know what I must do, and I will never, I have never, and it has never happened that I will do anything to bring down our government. To those spreading the propaganda, shame on you," Ruto said.
The DP said that he helped President Kenyatta ascend to power and he should be given credit.
Interestingly, DP Ruto claimed that such allegations should be directed to Azimio presidential candidate Raila Odinga.
