Starehe MP Charles Njagua aka Jaguar has issued a statement after reports that he would not defend his seat.
Reports emerged on social media indicating that Jaguar had agreed to step down for his fierce rival in UDA Simon Mbugua after negotiations.
The same reports indicated that the discussions had been spearheaded by Deputy President William Ruto.
However, taking to social media, Jaguar refuted the claims assuring his supporters that he would be on the ballot box.

The singer cum politician also mentioned that he had not held any discussions with Ruto.
"As the sitting M.P of Starehe Constituency, I would like to inform my constituents that I have not stepped down for any aspirant and I have not held any discussions with the Deputy President in regards to this matter.
"I was elected by the people of Starehe and I have the mandate to represent them. I will not be party to any negotiations. My opponent agreed to negotiations in his former place Starehe mambo ni tofauti," jaguar said.
The MP recently ditched Jubilee for the United Democratic Alliance party.
