Senate Speaker Kenneth Lusaka was to arrive at Deputy President William Ruto's official Karen residence on Wednesday morning at 8 am.
Ruto, ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi and Ford Kenya's Moses Wetang'ula were to unveil him as their Bungoma governor seat candidate in the August 9 polls.
The Senate Speaker was, however, a no show. Frantic attempts to reach him out on calls were futile as he could not pick up his calls.
A report by Nation indicates that Lusaka, together with Samburu governor seat aspirant, were to be displayed as the alliance's flagbearers.

Lusaka, however, went missing until around 3 PM on the same day when came, way too late.
He is said to have explained that he was engaged in a speaker's forum at Serena Hotel, Nairobi.
His failure to arrive led to the unveiling of Samburu governor aspirants only despite the presence of Bungoma leaders who were to be displayed as the alliance flagbearers in the various elective seats in the region.
Wetang'ula is said to have instructed Bungoma Woman Representative Catherine Wambiliaga and Kabuchai MP Majimbo Kalasinga to arrive at the DP's residence by 8 am.
The DP on the other hand had summoned his allied leaders in Bungoma including Mwambu Mabonga (Bumula), Fred Kapondi (Mt Elgon) and Didmus Barasa (Kimilili) to his Karen residence at the same time so that they could help in the unveiling of Lusaka.
Lusaka is said to have told Nation that he did not have to be present physically since he was chairing the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region (ICGLR), a different explanation from what sources told the daily.
His absence is said to have caused jitters with the DP reported being re-thinking his party's support for the speaker.
