Police spokesperson Bruno Shioso has issued a statement as Easter Holidays come to an end.

The National Police Service (NPS) has issued a statement as Kenyans marked the Easter Holidays beginning April 15.

In a statement on Monday by Police spokesperson Bruno Shioso, he noted that traffic jam was a major issue during the period as many Kenyans travelled during the period.

Shioso, however, noted that the holidays went on smoothly without major interruptions attributing that to the police’s vigilance and collaboration with the public.

He further notified the public of impending congestion as travellers returned to work.

“With the coming to an end of the Easter Holidays, more congestion is reasonably expected as travellers return back to their places of work,” read a statement by Shioso.

Shioso appealed to motorists to be more vigilant on the road for their safety and other road users.

“We appeal to all motorists to exercise utmost caution and vigilance on the roads while taking their personal safety, that of their families, loved ones and other road users into consideration,” he stated.

Shioso added that the police will work closely with the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) and other partners to enforce the law and facilitate free flow of traffic.
