Barely hours after the Azimio la Umoja one Kenya appointed a 7-member panel to select Raila Odinga's running mate, Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula has urged Kalonzo Musyoka not to subject himself to the process.
In a statement issued on Thursday, April 28, Wetangula questioned how Kalonzo could be subjected to such a process yet he had served in a similar position under the late President Mwai Kibaki's government.
He called on the Wiper party leader to reject the process in totality terming it a humiliation.
"My brother Kalonzo Musyoka, you have been Vp for a full term, you have been Pm RA Odinga’s running mate twice. Don’t subject yourself to humiliation, ridicule and odium by being interrogated as to “suitability” for the same role/job," Wetangula stated.

The members who were appointed by the committee panel to select Odinga's running mate include; Bishop Peter Njenga, Archbishop Zacchaeus Okoth, Senator Enock Wambua, Michael Orwa, Dr. Noah Wekesa, Sheikh Mohamed Khalifa, and Beatrice Moen.
"Eligible candidates must demonstrate that nomination to the position is a public trust to be exercised in a manner that one demonstrates respect to the people, bring honour to the nation and dignity to the office, promotes public confidence in the integrity of the office," MP Junet Mohamed said while issuing the statement.
Junet also said that eligible candidates must demonstrate that nomination to the office of the deputy president is a responsibility to serve the people rather than the power to rule them.
