Considering Sankok's perennial criticism of the ODM leader, many did not envisage Raila's warm message to him.
Sankok is also said to have made controversial remarks regarding the death of Raila's son Fidel Odinga.
The two issues did not stop Raila from passing his condolence message to the family.
"Hon. David Sankok, it is painful to experience losing a child, and even more so, difficult having to bury one; we stand with you during this difficult time. Please accept condolences from Mama Ida and I. May God grant your entire family fortitude. We are praying for you," Raila said.
In a rejoinder, Sankok replied to Raila's post saying: "Thank you, Sir, I and my family sincerely thank you for standing with us during our most difficult time. May God bless you and your family".
