Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has sent out an emotional message as Deputy President William Ruto and Azimio leader Raila Odinga prepare to unveil their running mates.
In an emotional post on Sunday morning, May 15, Kuria said that the vote-rich Mt Kenya region was paying a heavy price for not grooming a successor over the last 10 years.
“Mt Kenya region is paying a heavy price for not grooming a successor over the last 10 years. And for destroying our leaders instead of building them. For seeing the bad in people instead of the good in them,” he stated.
The vocal lawmaker said that it was a sad day as leaders had promoted themselves instead of promoting their colleagues.

“For all leaders promoting themselves instead of promoting their colleagues. This is a sad day. The only thing left is to ring-fence and salvage our respective counties leadership,” he added.
The Mt. Kenya region will miss out on a formidable presidential candidate in the upcoming August polls as Ruto and Raila are seen as the heavyweights in the presidential race.
The DP is set to unveil his running mate on Sunday, March 15. According to Ruto's Head of Communications, Hussein Mohamed, a decision had been reached on the DP’s running mate.
"The running mate issue was also extensively discussed. We are happy to announce that we have a decision as Kenya Kwanza. A decision has been reached and will be officially communicated to you on Sunday," Hussein told the press.
On the other hand, Raila is reportedly expected to unveil his running mate on Sunday at a rally in Jacaranda grounds.
