United Democratic Alliance (UDA) vice-chair Arap Kirwa has joined the Raila Odinga-led Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition. 

Kirwa was received at Sirisia Market in Bungoma County where Odinga is leading the Azimio campaigns. 

Speaking at Sirisia Market in Bungoma County, Kirwa confirmed that he had joined the Azimio coalition. 

Kirwa said once UDA unveiled Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua as Deputy President William Ruto's running mate, those were the signs that democracy would be suppressed. 

He stated that when Odinga unveiled Martha Karua as the running mate the following day, he retreated to think for about two weeks.

"Kuanzia leo mimi Kipruto Arap Kirwa nimejiuzulu kama mwenye kiti msaidizi wa chama cha UDA," Kirwa announced.  

He noted that he wouldn't allow himself to stay in a party where democracy was threatened.
