Deputy President William Ruto's attempts to bring together all leaders inside his Kenya Kwanza Alliance could have suffered another blow after two of the leaders from the Mt Kenya region failed to turn up for his Kiambu rally on Saturday, June 18.
Chama Cha Kazi Party leader Moses Kuria and Tujibebe Wakenya Party Leader William Kabogo gave the meeting a wide berth, three days after clashing with United Democratic Alliance (UDA) gubernatorial candidate Kimani Wamatangi.
The two, Kuria and Kabogo were expected at Ndumberi stadium for the rally after Deputy President William Ruto's Head of Communications Hussein Mohamed listed them among the guests who were to graze the event.
However, the two kept off the meeting sparking speculations on their next course after officially writing to the Kenya Kwanza principles seeking an audience with them over what they termed as intimidations from a number of UDA leaders from the region.

Instead, Kuria took his time to campaign for himself in Gikambura Kiambu while Kabogo took his campaigns to the Kikuyu constituency.
The two are seeking to succeed the incumbent Governor James Nyoro and are expected to face off with UDA'a Wamatangi.
Despite this, Ruto and his other principles Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula steered clear of Wamatangi, Kabogo's altercation, and instead directed their guns on Azimio la Umoja camp.
While throwing a direct jab at Martha Karua, Ruto said Raila and his running mate have no moral authority to lecture him on how to respect his boss Uhuru Kenyatta.
He said the two were at the forefront fighting Uhuru in the past when he was busy supporting him and should keep off the matter.
"I have heard those guys from Azimio trying to lecture us on how to respect President Uhuru Kenyatta, where were they when we supported President Uhuru Kenyatta? Stop pretending that you love Uhuru more than us when you went against him when he needed your support in the past. You wanted to take him to the Hague yet you pretend to be his friends, shame on you, bure kabisa," stated Ruto.
Among the leaders who accompanied him to Ndumberi include Rigathi Gachagua, Musalia Mudavadi, Moses Wetang’ula, Justin Muturi, Alfred Mutua, Kimani Wamatangi, Kimani Ichung'wah, Gathoni Wamuchomba, Githua Wamacukuru, George Koimburi and Njuguna ka Wanjiku among others.
