Omanyala clocked a time of 10.02 seconds to win the men's title ahead of defending champion Akani Simbine. 

African fastest man Ferdinand Omanyala has won Kenya's first gold medal at the 2022 Commonwealth Games after powering to victory in the men's 100m final. 

The 26-year-old became the first ever Kenyan in 60 years to win the Commonwealth Games. 

Omanyala clocked a time of 10.02 seconds to win the men's title ahead of defending champion Akani Simbine who came second in 10.13s to win silver. 

Yupun Abeykoon from Sri Lanka came in third to win bronze in 10.14 seconds.
