By 6am on Tuesday morning, voting exercise had began in most parts of the country.
UDA presidential candidate William Ruto, his running mate Rigathi Gachagua and Azimio presidential running mate Martha are among the key people of interest who have cast their votes by 8 am.
Ruto voted at a polling at Kosachei primary school in Sugoi Uasin Gishu county while Karua and Gachagua voted in their respective polling stations in Gichugu and Mathira constituencies.
"The exercise so far is very peaceful and that is what we want for this country. This election is a process and life must go on. Those at home to come out and vote because they must be part of the process of defining their destiny," Gachagua said after voting.

Agano party presidential candidate Waihiga David Mwaure has also cast his votes.
Azimio presidential candidate Raila Odinga and his wife Raila Odinga will cast their votes at Old Kibera Primary School in Kibera constituency in Nairobi at 10 am.
Voting exercise in Westlands constituency, however, delayed.
