The Law Society of Kenya (LSK) has said that it ready and willing to handle all election petitions regarding the just concluded general election.
In a press briefing on Tuesday, LSK president Eric Theuri said that the society has been over the last four months been training its members on handling of election petitions.
“We have over the last four months extensively trained our members on handling of election petitions and we believe that we are ready, able and willing to pursue any challenges in court,” Theuri stated.
The LSK president further asked the losers in various elective positions seeking to dispute the results that were declared by IEBC to maintain peace in the process.

“We call on any aggrieved parties to reiterate the need for the maintenance of peace and order as they mount legal challenges to the results declared by IEBC,” Theuri added.
He also called on the Inspector General of police Hilary Mutyambai to take all lawful steps to guarantee the security and well-being of all Kenyans and their property.
The LSK president further asked the IG to take lawful action to deal with any criminal elements seeking to destroy property or harm citizens.
LSK congratulated winners in various elective positions in the concluded polls adding that a number of advocates were elected into office.
