Former director of personnel at police headquarters Charlton Murithi has died.
He breathed his last at the Kenyatta National Hospital where was receiving treatment over cancer-related complications.
Three months ago he was flown to South Africa for therapy. He was flown back to Kenya and was admitted to the Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH.
His body has been moved to a local mortuary.

Murithi's demise was confirmed by the police headquarters which pledged to issue comprehensive statement later.
He was the director of Kenya National Focal Point on Illicit Small Arms and Light Weapons at the time of his death.
He was a Senior Assistant Inspector General of Police (SAIG), a rank below the Deputy Inspector General of police.
Murithi previously served as the director of the Internal Affairs Unit (AIU), commandant of traffic operations, Provincial Police Officer in North Eastern, among other directorates of the police.
One of his key assignment was in 2015 when he was tasked with investigating TV evangelist James Ng’ang’a over the death of a woman in a road accident in Limuru.
His colleagues have described as a committed professional who streamlined operations at key offices he served.
