Azimio La Umoja coalition party leader Raila Odinga has declined an invite to attend President-elect William Ruto's inauguration on Tuesday, September 13, at Kasarnai Nairobi County.
The former Prime Minister on Monday, September 12, confirmed that Ruto had called to invite him for his swearing-in ceremony.
However, while declining the invite, Odinga stated that he was not in the country and could not attend the swearing-in ceremony.
"This evening, I received a letter and a telephone call from H.E Dr. William Ruto inviting me to his inauguration set for tomorrow, September 13, 2022. I regret however that I will not be available for the inauguration because I am out of the country and I also have other serious concerns," Odinga said.
He further claimed that the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) did not conduct a free, credible and fair election.
