A post election workshop organized in Mombasa by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission offered a perfect opportunity for Commission's chair Wafula Chebukati to reprimand the four IEBC commissioners who termed results he announced as "opaque".
The IEBC chair in a thinly veiled attack at the four namely vice chairperson Juliana Cherera, Francis Wanderi, Justus Nyang’aya and Irene Masit said the group disappointed the commission.
"It is insincere for A member of the commission and senior staff to allege that they were barred from providing assistance to the election management process," he said.
He took issue with the move by he four to join petitioners in calling for the nullification of the presidential results.

Chebukati said the act amounts to betrayal since the commission had worked together to ensure the elections are free and transparent.
"It is even tragic that some members of the commission would petition the Supreme Court of Kenya to nullify the results that we collectively worked under difficult circumstances to deliver to the people of Kenya."
The four held a separate press conference on the day results were announced and disowned Chebukati's final results.
The group also filed affidavit asking the Supreme Court to trash the results.
