The former KNUT SG, who served as nominated MP between 2017-2022, was touted as a potential candidate for the seat of Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of Education.

President William Ruto however considered Ezekiel Machogu for the seat.

Machogu will take over from Magoha. Sossion is a teacher by profession and was picked from the classroom to represent the union.

He was nominated by the ODM party in 2017 to advocate for teachers affairs in Parliament.

He tried his luck in Kericho senatorial seat but lost during the UDA party nominations.

He claimed he was rigged out during the polls and he even supported the CCM party leader Isaac Ruto for Governor's seat after he fell out with Governor Hillary Barchok.
